Día de los Muertos

The day of the dead celebration in San Francisco is my favorite event I've attended here thus far.   People are so festive and decked out.   What a beautiful way to celebrate all our loved ones who have passed on.  The altars people made were stunning.  My friend Eliza made one for her step father who was a falconer and passed away many years ago.  If you live in the area and haven't been to this event I highly recommend you go next year, it's stunning.  Sorry some of the pictures are blurry, my camera died after the parade so all the pictures of the altars and party in the park are with my Iphone.

Magic door in the Mission

I stumbled upon this mini door and window in a alley way in the mission yesterday. I wanted to climb on in but I didn't have the minimizing potion with me, unfortunately.

Magical sky in the Mission

I'm so far behind on my posts again,  thanks for all the lovely comments on the last post.  I was really excited about that outfit.  This outfit is most likely the most casual of outfits you will see me wearing.  It was a lovely evening in the mission so we went for a drive to capture the amazing clouds that were painting the sky.  It's nice to actually have some outfit shots that aren't DIY in the mirror.

People who know people who I know

As promised, pictures from last weekend, better late than never. Click to make them big, big, bigger.

I met this super sweet couple, she is a designer and created this dress. The red painted on designs are made with puff paint (not ironed therefore not puffy, just shinny) genius I say. She has a little booth downtown by F21 on Powell. I saw a tee shirt at Barney's this weekend that looked a lot like the design on her dress, her dress is much better though. Her sweet BF works at Marc Jacobs and told me to come in sometime and play dress up.
My camera was on some weird setting but I really like how these two photos came out. The party we were at had a net up and people were playing games.

At the Roxy, during the movie, hangout out in the lobby eating lots of popcorn. You wouldn't believe what goes on while you are watching movies.

My friends are headless.
I asked a guy to pour me some of his Champagne and he gave me a mix of these two, it was undrinkable. I pawned it off on another guy and got the proper plain version.
Have I mentioned I that I own 5 pieces of "kitty clothing" I think this should be the 6th.
During the movie, again.
Which version of M.J is for you?
I thought This old telephone poll was beautiful. I want to print some of the photos to hang up in the house. I took lots of them.

Up on the rooftop

My lady friend lives on the top floor of tall building on a very popular street corner. I love hanging out and watching out her window, this time there was a awesome band playing across from her house on the opposite corner. They were called The Ferocious Few. I took a couple videos of them playing. They were surprisingly great. We had lots of fun Saturday night. I'll post some more photos of the after dark escapades soon.

I'm wearing
Vintage handmade 50s dress- Clothing by the pound (the details are gorgeous)
Necklace-thrifted (native american)

Meow, this tini little kitty was so cute compared to my huge monster cats.

Saturday night adventures

I had a friend in town this weekend, which made it a perfect occasion for a night out. We started the night with the movie in the park across from my house which was Pretty in Pink, such a classic. We then went to Argus, which is super cute and full of nice people. All in all a fun night in the mission.

EDIT: The movie in the park (Pretty In Pink) happened to be only a few days before John Hughes passed away at the young age of 59. I'm so glad that I had the chance to see the movie on the big screen right before he died. It makes me appreciate his work so much. RIP J.H

This car has been parked in front of my house for a while, I want to steal it.
I've been seeing this tagged all over the mission.
Ladies night out. I'm wearing my "Pretty in Pink" best.
Portrait at Argus.
The movie, so much fun!!

schauplatz vintage

This cute little vintage store is about 3 blocks from my house. They have a great selection of vintage clothing from many eras. I found many things I wanted, but didn't buy anything. It was a rare moment of a non-shopping mood. My friend did buy a couple things that she was really excited about. The guy working, not sure if he was the owner but he was very handsome and friendly.
This is a skirt my friend tried on.
View from the front door

This coat was hanging up really high and I was admiring it, the guy took it down for me to try on. It had to have weighed about 15 lbs, it was crazy. It's gorgeous but made me look like I was about 200 lbs. It think it will be perfect for a drag queen.
