Le Fashion

The first fashion show I have done in 3 years was last night, it was a interesting experience.  I made all the clothes, jewelry, and headdresses except for the gorgeous mohawk hat by Janell Francois.   I also did all the hair for the show, which I kept pretty simple since I had so many head pieces.  Jessica Brown was the makeup artist and she was amazing, we didn't have time to get to all of us but you can definitely tell which ones are pro.

The next time I would like to have more time to get ready, start at the designated time so my announcer is there and have a much larger crowd.  But it was good to get in the flow again and feel inspired.

Fashion Flashback

Back in 2002 I was a muse for a friend of mine who created a ball gown for a "paper and plastic" fashion show. The dress that Tyrone made for me was made completely with Betsy Johnson bags. The base/hoop skirt was with the handle bags and the ruffles and draping were all done with garment bags. It was such a gorgeous dress and so much fun to wear. Right before the show I had bleached out all my hair, then put some pink in it for the show. It was outrageous.

Academy of art spring fashion show part 3

Here are some more of the photos I shot at the fashion show for the students graduating with a masters degree from the Academy of art. I was stunned by how beautiful their designs were. Again, sorry for the bad quality, I was far away and had to use my zoom.

This was a collaboration with a clothing and jewelry designer, the neck piece went all the way down the back too.
The next few were my fave designer of the show.

I LOVE LOVE this one!

Another jewelry colab, her dress was incrusted with lots of metal.

The last one of the show, super awesome colab again.

academy of art spring fashion show, grad students part 2

The top few photos are a collaboration with two students, one did the clothing design and the other did the textile design. Again sorry for the picture quality, I had to zoom in because I was far away.

Academy of art spring fashion show, grad students part 1

I shot a ton of photos at the academy of art's fashions show a couple weeks ago. I lost my camera cord until recently, sorry the blog has been backed up. There are a lot more posts from this fashion show to come. These photos are not the best quality, I was in the balcony and had my camera on 6X zoom. As always you can click on photos for more detail. I was very impressed with the quality of design from the students. It was evident why this is one of the best fashion schools in the country.

I loved this designers pants, the overalls with wide legs (below) were one of my faves from the entire show.

Luck of the draw!

I get to go to the Academy of Art's graduation fashion show tomorrow. It's apparently impossible to get tickets to but my friend worked it out. I am so excited, I will hopefully be allowed to photograph things and will do a proper posting soon!
