Blast from the past

While cruising the interwebs today, I rediscovered these really old pictures, taken a huge burning man costume party in Seattle in 2004 by DB.  In the first few I am with my dear friend Nicole, this is pre her marriage and now the birth of her first child.  I borrowed this amazing dress from a friend, it was so fun to wear!

Stepping back in time, a blast from the past

Here is a little peek into our spare bedroom where I do all my crafts, sewing, haircuts for friends as well as my self taken outfit pictures.  I am obsessed with vintage hats, dresses, shoes and decor.  Most of the things you see are handed down from my lovely grandparents.  By making the photos black and white, I feel like it really takes me and hopefully you back to the days of old.

Small pictures on the wall are both old sheet music from my Grandma H, I have so many more of these and they are all beautiful.

The larger sheet in the middle is a piece of wrapping paper that my Grandmother M had, I believe it's a reproduction from the 1980's

Vintage dolls-From Grandma M, who was a collector of dolls, the smallest one is from the 20's (it's a pin cushion doll from germany)  The other two are most likely 40's-50's

the past

I left this comment today for the Glamourai and it got me thinking about my past fashion choices. So I am posting some pictures of when I was more colorful. These pictures span a large time frame maybe about 5 years, and yes I am a hair stylist, can you tell by my many hair do's, or some times, don'ts.

"I have been finding that my personal style has taken a beating as I have to only wear certain colors to work, black, grey and white. I have only been buying those colors unless its a amazing vintage piece. I'm starting to feel very blaw, but it has been interesting to come up with fun outfits with only a few colors allowed. I also feel like reading other peoples blogs has inspired me and also taken away some of my personal style. I now, sometimes think of other peoples outfits when getting dressed, instead of following my own creative instincts like I used to before getting into this crazy world of online fashion."
