Let's play along, shall we

Ms. Sally Jane was tagged to do this little post. I thought it sounded like fun and was hoping it wouldn't be too crazy of a  picture. The rules are.........

1. Go to the 4th folder in your computer where you store your pictures.
2. Pick the 4th picture in that folder.
3. Explain the picture.
4. Tag 4 people to do the same!

I went to Italy in May of 06, It was stunning and so amazing. This picture was taken at a art studio in Carrarra Italy.  This town is where all the white marble comes from and where Michelangelo choose all of his marble for his great works.  We got to take a tour of this great studio.  It was really neat to see all the works in progress and to meet the artists.  Amazingly they knew my boyfriends aunt Susan Lowenhertz,  who also lived in Carrara at the time and was a marble sculptor as well. Sadly miss Susan passed away but her amazing talents still live on today.

I tag whoever wants to play along, come on now, its fun.

Floating like Feathers

Here I am wearing my snow outfit. It started snowing again today, it's so pretty with the biggest flakes I have ever seen, floating like feathers. It's nice to see it coming down and not just being a nuisance on the ground. All my friends are stuck at their houses. I'm really hoping it will start to melt a bit so I can see my friends who live here and are home for the holidays. I have been away for over 2 years, its really nice to be here. I'm glad I brought my muppet fur boots with me. I Have 2 pairs and the black ones VS the white ones are my favorite now.

This is one flake, for reals!

Happy Holidays!

Here are some recent non fashion related pics to leave you for the holidays when I am away.  I might be posting in the next week or so.  I most likely will be at some point.  My mom just showed me the most beautiful coat she got.   It's vintage made here in portland by this amazing old company that was bought out by Nordstrom when they started selling clothing.  It was there first clothing line.  I will take some pictures of it to post soon.  It has square glass beads all over it and so much detailing that it almost look like its from a hill tribe in thailand, besides the fact that it is all black.  I want to steal it, but she isn't ready to give it up yet.

OMG!

I had to repost this picture from my fave goth lolita site.    How cute is that cat.  I actually love putting make up on cats and now that I have said that I must post a pic of my fave make up job on the cute lil cosmo (first pic).  He is the sweetest guy.  I used hypoallergenic eye shadow it works great for lighter cats.  My cats now are both too dark for makeup, so I have to settle for my self.   Happy holidays, I'm off to go brave the mall to help my man shop for his family.  xoxox

Finally some new software

I just got some free photo software (gimp) and am trying to teach myself to use it, here is my first practice, it's bringing me the lol's.  I am slowly trying to make my blog better and this should help, I get a new camera which is helping a lil too.  ;)

Etsy wish list

Here are some on my fave beauties from Etsy, don't forget to check out my store.

I knew this day would come

I started making bustle belts a few years ago, after sitting on the idea for another couple years.  In my mind I was the inventor and even have a website, however poorly done (created by a x-friend who was a blind programmer, hence the sideways photos).  That is another story all together.

I always knew the day would come when a large design company would catch on and start making really expensive mass produced bustle belts.  I just wish I could have had the capital to have 1000 of them made years ago and marketed them myself.  I guess it's true, there is nothing new under the sun.  POOH!

Thanks to Suzie Bubble for clueing me in to my impending sadness.

R.I.P. Bettie Page

She was such a beauty icon, it's so sad to see her go.

I Long for you to be short

I thrifted this new with tags, 80's skirt a few weeks ago because I loved the high waist with buckles.  It was, however a really weird length, I knew I wanted to shorten it but just got around to it today.  I'm usually not the biggest fan of Khaki but this skirt had major potential. I can't wait to style it with tights, boots and something fun as the top.

Pleasue Principle inspired DiY

After seeing this collection by Pleasure Principle, I wanted something similar with out forking out the hundreds of dollars.  I was going for the tank dress (it's black on the web site) with the drapy back and large knot, but as my projects usualy do, it ended up taking a diffrent turn. It ended up turning into more of a cape front drapey back thing.   I really love how it turned out and I can't wait to wear it.

I started out by tracing another tank dress and tee that I had for the basic shape.

This is the pleating in the back of the drape
Front view before I knew i was turning into a capeish dress.
Finished project on my dress form

And on me, in the mirror, looking huge....lol It's really not as unflattering as it appears to be here, I look about twice my size in these photos.
