Sicky

I have been feeling a little under the weather, with no energy.   I've been wearing my robe all week and by the way its the best robe ever.  I love it and I thank my sweetheart for finding it for me at (stem).   Funny, I bought him one just like it,  months before, at a mall,on sale of corse.

I'm amazed by fabrics these days, they are so soft.  Many of the super soft fabrics these days are  made of recycled plastic.  It's so great that these fabrics are recycled and so cozy at the same time. We have come a long way with technology.

Some of my favorite things

I am going to start this week, posting photo's of my favorite things.  I will be starting at the top of my body and heading to the bottom. This week, I will  start with hats, headbands and maybe some scarfs that I wear in my hair. I didn't get around to taking the shots today so hopefully tomorrow  I'll get some up.   Im super excited about this.

I also started a flickr group for others to share thier favorite thigs as well.  It is called Favorite Pieces, check it out.   I can't wait to share and see other peoples favorite things!!

Inspirations inspired by hippy culture

I love this photo of things set out for a fashion shoot, it reminds me of a costume closet and all the vintage type things are exciting to me. courtesy of style bubble

This is from face hunter
I love her wig/ hat it reminds me of the natural curls that are so beautiful on african american women.

This furniture reminded me of the painted busses that are always present at festivals pictures are from design sponge

Earth day

I went to a great concert/festival at golden gate park yesterday for earth day.  It was so full of great hippy clothing ensembles, and for some reason the whole time I didn't take a photo, I somehow forgot that I had my camera in my purse.  But I assure you it was a amazing.  The energy alone was enough to cheer anyone's spirit.

Loot from thrifting

Here are the things I got for myself thrifting today.

Gorgeous see thru blouse-originally from F21
Floral belt-no tag
High waisted jeans-no tag very similar to the navy issued versions (I took out the seam on the bottom to make them longer)
High waisted granny pants-no tag, great bright orange color
Rain coat-I am excited about this coat,  it's marimekko (i have been looking for a cool rain coat for a while now.)  It's quite funny that I grew up in places with lots of rain and haven't had a raincoat since I was little.   I have even looked online for something interesting and this one is absolutely perfect, the print and the fit!

Pretty Pirate Designs, a new creation

I created this dress out of fabric I found at a thrift store about a year ago.  It is so gorgeous with the gold embroidery, I had no idea for the longest time what to do with it.  I think this turned out so beautiful with the way I placed the fabric.  I never use patterns so this dress is designed and created by me!  I am really proud of this dress.

Hair sculptures

Check out these great hair styles from Mexico's fashion week courtesy of Face Hunter.
I love their whole look as well.

Funny story

So regarding my post about yellow shoes, I finally got the box in the mail for the vintage mod shoes from etsy.  I was so excited to open them and try them on.  It was early in the morning and I was a little out of it.  I open the box, slowly.  I see a gorgeous scarf, nice,  a freebie.  Uncovering the shoes I realize they are not even yellow.  I see brown, lace up boots, in a size 7, not quite what I ordered.  So I email Wizard clothing, to tell her about the mix up.  Together we come up with a plan, I will send the shoes to the real owner and she will reimburse me the shipping fee.  So then I get a little jealous to find out that my shoes are all the way in Australia.  Dammit, I wish that was me.  So now I wait again for the world traveling yellow shoes.   In the meantime I am hoping to get the other pair, I feel like its been forever waiting for a silly pair of yellow shoes.

Look of the day

Here is my look for today, blury but you can get the idea

How dress for your shape

I was jumping around to some other fashion blogs and I found a great new one called smaggle style  and was throughly enjoying it, when  I got to a post about a book called "dress like a star"  written by Annabelle von Tongeren.  It's all about dressing for your body type.  You can see a tutorial of how to do this here on smaggle style.  Very helpful for for more voluptuous ladies.  Thanks to smaggle style for bringing this to my attention!

Sunday Funday

Sunday was amazing, the weather was gorgeous, verging on to hot.  I had to change my outfit numerous time because even some summer dresses were too hot.  I eventually went with a simple strapless dress.  Some friends and I made wreaths for our hair using honeysuckle vines from my back yard, they smelled so good.   We hung out at Dolores park most of the day rotating with our house because we are lucky enough to live across the street,  it's so convenient.

Although this pic is much better quality than that web cam shots, I am wearing no make up and the sun in in my eyes, oh well.  It was a gorgeous day today in sf, I was inside most of the day working on clients, but I heard it was 80 degrees.  As i left the salon around 7 it was still semi warm outside, a rarity for SF.  SO here is my outfit for today

Yellow shoe craving solved

I finally solved the urge for yellow shoes x 2, oops :)

I read about a site called www.gojane.com  on www.Painfullyhip.com so I go to check out the site and see that the shoes are so cheap.   I found the cutest t-strap shoes are on sale for 11.99 so I just had to have them.

Then I get the urge to go to Etsy.com and see if there happens to be any yellow shoes on there, just for kicks (no pun intended).  I find some amazing, vintage, mod yellow shoes for not too much more, so I got them as well because where else would I find mint condition mod yellow shoes.   I still haven't received either but I can't wait to pair these new finds with something cute, maybe one of the 6 new dresses I got yesterday at buffalo exchange.

I traded in some old clothes I never wear at BE.  Have I mentioned how much I love Buffalo Exchange, well dammit I love it and again the people who work there are so great.  They had so many amazing dresses, the manager said they have been getting a ton of people selling but not as many shoppers, so I scored.  See my outfit below for some more of the stuff I got.

XOXO

face Morph

I found a website that morphs your face into diffrent types of faces.  You can choose races, artists, ages and so on. to check it out click the link below.  This one is me as a Mucha woman.

Loot from thrifting

I spotted these vintage wing-tips in the special shoe case, for  fancier shoes at community thrift on Valencia .  Being that they are so beautiful with flat leather, pat n leather as well as ribbon laces and in my size I was thrilled.   They were priced at $ 17.99 but when I got to the register they were having a 50% off sale so they were really $ 9.00, AMAZING!   It was my lucky day

These vintage glasses are amazing and they were a little pricey for thrifting but also a score at $ 19.99
Vintage poly bikini, so cute. $ 5.99
Super cute striped cardigan 3.99$

Day of thrifting

Im about to go thrifting today so I choose a outfit that would be easy to get on and off. I love the print of the vintage poly shirt, its going with the trend of bright floral prints.

Shirt- vintage acquired from buffalo exchange on my day of trades
Necklace- thrifted metal gold beads
Belt- thrifted
Jeans- Hudson, they are the best high wasted pair I own out of everything from original 70's to new.
Shoes-thrifted by Nine West they are real wood and super cushy and comfy
